Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The government today appointed two new deputy ministers: Deputy Environment Minister Rodion Bajureanu and Deputy Youth and Sport Minister Octavian Bodisteanu.
Another nine deputy ministers who served in the previous government were reconfirmed: Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman, Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic, Deputy Finance Minister Victor Barbaneagra, Deputy Justice Minister Oleg Efrim, Deputy Transport and Road Infrastructure Minister Boris Gherasim, Deputy Education Minister Loretta Handrabura, Deputy Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister Sergiu Sainciuc, Deputy Regional Development and Construction Minister Anatolie Zolotoca and Deputy Information Technology and Communications Minister Dona Scola.
Deputy Environment Minister Corneliu Mirza and Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Nicolae Andronachi were relieved of their duties. The cabinet also approved the dismissal of the director of the Border Guard Service, Alexei Roibu, because of his appointment as interior minister.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that other deputy ministers would be appointed at the next meeting.
Also today, the cabinet appointed ambassadors to several countries. Thus, Moldovan Ambassador to the USA Igor Muntean will serve as non-resident ambassador to Canada and Mexico.
Moldovan Ambassador to Ukraine Ion Stavila was appointed non-resident ambassador to Turkmenistan. Moldovan Ambassador to Portugal Valeriu Turea will also serve as non-resident ambassador to Monaco and Ambassador to Bulgaria Alexandru Prigorschi as non-resident ambassador to Macedonia.
Also today, the cabinet appointed Moldovan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Igor Bodiu to serve as non-resident ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and Ambassador to the Czech Republic Stefan Gorda as non-resident ambassador to the Holy See.
