Chisinau 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Vlad Filat met EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule in Brussels today, the government's communications and press relations department has said. Vlad Filat appreciated the continuous support of the European Commission and the one of Commissioner Stefan Fule personally for the process of Moldova's European integration. The prime minister praised the positive dynamic of the talks on the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. "We are contented with the third round of negotiations held in Chisinau on 7-8 June 2010. We are confident that we will maintain the same pace within the next rounds of talks as well," Vlad Filat said. The prime minister specified that the government relies on an as soon as possible reception of the European Commission's recommendations on the deep and comprehensive free trade zone and launching negotiations. He specified that the government undertakes anticipation measures to this end. Vlad Filat also referred to a 26 July meeting of the governmental commission for European integration, during which this issue was tackled. The prime minister informed also about the dialogue on the liberalization of the visa regime. He stressed that, in line with the understandings reached at a meeting of high-level officials of the visa dialogue, held in Brussels on 15 June 2010, Moldova is fully committed to prepare for the evaluation missions in the justice and interior affairs. The prime minister said that Moldova counts on the European Commission's backing to get a visa-related roadmap in autumn 2010. Vlad Filat said that, in conformity with the earlier reached agreement, the participants in the 26 July meeting of the governmental commission for European Integration agreed to adopt an action plan of Moldova - reform priorities in the European integration area till June 2011. "We do not wait for someone to say us what should we do. We act while having a well-established goal, and we will further quickly move in the direction of EU integration. All these reforms are, first of all, in Moldova's interest," the prime minister said. Vlad Filat asked for the Commissioner's support to increase the share of export of Moldovan wines to the EU market. He stressed that the wine-making and vine-growing sectors are of first importance in the national economy. The prime minister thanked the European Union for willingness to give Moldova macro-financial assistance, as well as for the attitude towards the problem faced by Moldova - the floods. Stefan Fule appreciated the actions which Moldova has taken for the European integration, highlighting the increasing dynamic of the Moldova-EU dialogue. The commissioner said that EU will further support Moldova's efforts on the European integration road. Stefan Fule also referred to the macro-financial assistance which is to be given Moldova, specifying that the European Commission will take efforts to speed up the present procedures in this respect. As for the liberalization of the visa regime, the European commissioner said that, in September 2010, European experts are to carry out an evaluation mission, after which a roadmap for Moldova will be prepared. Stefan Fule also said that, next September, EU will convey to Moldova recommendations to negotiations on the agreement on deep and comprehensive trade. The commissioner said that EU is willing to provide additional support to Moldova by increasing the share of export for the Moldovan wine products. Also, the commissioner touched upon the issue of floods faced by Moldova. He specified that EU, as well as some member states, in particular, reacted quickly and ruled to help Moldova. Stefan Fule referred to the political events which are to take place in Moldova. He emphasized that it is very important to observe the earlier reached understandings on the organization of the referendum and elections next autumn. He called on the authorities to ensure the best conditions for holding the polls democratically, thus consolidating the processes started by the Moldovan authorities to democratize the country. The prime minister said that the authorities will ensure the necessary conditions, so that the plebiscite and the elections are held transparently, democratically and correctly.
