Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - Georgia will finance the construction of ten houses for families affected by the recent floods in the Prut river meadow. In a short time, the Constructions and Regional Development Ministry is to hold a tender to select a Moldovan company that will construct dwellings and a kindergarten till the beginning of the cold season. A Georgian delegation led by Deputy Youth Minister Sulhan Sibashvili, late last week was on a visit to the flood-hit Nemteni village, Hincesti district, central Moldova, where the dwellings will be constructed. Today, acting President Mihai Ghimpu held a news conference along with the Tbilisi official. "We thank President Mikhail Saakashvili for assistance. The Moldovans have a saying: a friend in need is a friend indeed," Mihai Ghimpu said. For his part, Deputy Minister Sulhan Sibashvili thanked the Moldovan side for hospitability. The Georgian delegation brought humanitarian aid as well, among which also ten pneumatic boats and ten water pumps. Tbilisi also provides ten-day leisure for 125 children from flood-hit families in a summer camp on the Georgian Black Sea coast. The acting president expressed willingness to visit the Moldovan children who will rest in Georgia on 6-16 August. The Georgian delegation came with three types of houses, of which the Moldovan side will select one type, and then the money necessary for the construction of dwellings will be calculated.
